In an effort to allow families to watch their student(s) perform, Orchestra parents are encouraged to volunteer on 12/9 for the Guitar concert and visa versa with Guitar families volunteering at the Orchestra concert on 12/11.

Looking for a fun way to support your local student orchestra and guitar program? Well, then you are in LUCK! Covington Strings is thrilled to kick off our brand new project, Covington Strings Cameos!
Here’s how it works:
- Make a donation to our music program by purchasing a cameo from our online shop (linked in bio).
- Tell us what message you’d like us to share, and who to tag when we share it.
- Mr. Hall will share your message while the Covington Strings Orchestra plays one of their favorite songs. We’ll post the video on Instagram and Facebook where you can share it again and again.
These messages can be personal shout-outs, like birthday wishes or congratulations. They can also be shout-outs to local businesses or organizations! Maybe you replace this year’s holiday greeting card with a Covington Cameo to all your friends and family!
We are ready for your messages, so get those orders in today!
It’s a good thing Mr. Hall is such a good sport. If not, these kids are in for a lot of extra practice time.

Wait, what, weren't we just there?
Yes, and we are so glad you came out to celebrate with us and hear some amazing student performances last week at our fall social! This week is our regularly scheduled booster org meeting, so lots of the same friendly faces and food & bev selection, but this will be a meeting-meeting where we plan events and share program updates.
But I'm not a booster member yet!
Totally cool - come anyway if you are thinking of joining boosters, want to know more about what we're all about, or just would like to volunteer and help plan upcoming events like the annual Monster Concert.
I am unavailable on Wednesday and/or I hate meetings, but I want to help out!
You can join the booster org or make a donation to our program without joining. Joining is a great way to make sure you're on our mailing list for upcoming events and volunteer sign ups. You'll get booster meeting invites and copies of our monthly agendas. CMSstrings.org has a membership link and donation options.
Kick off festival szn in style with the Covington Strings program! All Covington families, students, and community supporters are welcome at this free event. Join us for student musician performances and door prize raffles! Food/drink available for purchase. This is a great low-key chance to hang out and meet other strings families. Parents/caregivers/friends: Join us for our September booster club meeting at 6:30 on Wednesday, 9/17, at Nomadic Outpost.
We typically meet the second Wednesday of each month but needed to shift the date of this month's meeting.
Whether you're already a booster club ride-or-die or whether you're brand new to Covington Strings and still figuring things out, this meeting is for you!
If you haven't filled out our membership form yet, that's the very best way to make sure you stay informed of future meetings and events. At cmsstrings.org, click "Booster Club Membership" on the home page.
The $15 annual membership fee goes right back to guitar and orchestra kids in the form of scholarships, field trips, supplies, and special events. But hey - we want to see you at the meeting either way 💖
It's time to apply for a fall 2025 private lesson scholarship! Applications are open to all Covington orchestra and guitar students. Thanks to the generosity of the Austin Optimist Club and other community sponsors, we are able to provide a limited number of full and partial scholarships each semester, helping more students access private instrument lessons. Private lessons are a great way to build your skills, prepare for contests and auditions, and challenge yourself with new and exciting repertoire...so apply today! How is summer almost over already?! That's ok because we are super excited to welcome everyone to another great year of guitar and orchestra. Our friends at Satellite Restaurant are helping make sure we start the year strong by hosting community support days on August 5-7. That's right, for three whole days, all your food orders help support Covington Strings if you mention the fundraiser or use code CMS25 online.
But wait! There's more! Come eat WITH us on Wednesday, August 6. We'll have a quick booster club meeting/meet and greet at 6 pm, and then hang out right after to socialize and hear some strings student performances. Whether you're brand new or returning, whether this is your first booster meeting or your fiftieth, we truly hope to see you there.

Please join us for our last spirit night of the school year! You already know you're way too busy to cook the last week of school, and it's gonna be like 90 million degrees out, so go grab dinner and a celebratory shake!
The final booster meeting of the year also serves as our annual general membership meeting - this is where we review our activities of the year and start making plans for next school year. If you're an "I'll join boosters but I don't want to attend EVERY month" kinda person, this would be the one to attend!
We are also still actively recruiting board members for the upcoming school year, so 5th, 6th and 7th grade parents especially, we hope to see some of you tomorrow!

Seeking volunteers to help with the guitar and orchestra final concerts on May 6th and 8th! There are opportunities to help with supply donations, pre-concert support, and concession sales during the concerts (pro tip: lots of guitar parents sign up to help on orchestra night, and vice versa, so everyone gets a chance to see their own kid perform!) We also welcome student and alum volunteers if your teen would like to help on a night they're not performing. Scan the QR code for more info and to sign up.
